agree with Darice. this is exactly what we have been doing, yet it never occurred to us. when we have faith in someone, we go through a mental process of finding a reason to trust in him/her, before making a decision to do so. 8810 promises. what can i say.(: ♥

also, i had a very thought-provoking conversation yesterday. we really cant deny that there is a gap between 'elites' and 'non-elites'. the general public seems to have a mindset that JC students, in other words, people with high IQ are clever yet low in their EQ. must IQ really be at the expense of EQ? cant both exist together? well i cant say that im a person with very high IQ, i mean there are alot of other students that are better than me in terms of academics. but since primary school, i've always been in the top schools. RGPS, Nanyang, Hwa Chong. are there proud people in those schools? definitely. loads of them. but are there humble and nice people? i would give a definite yes, too.(: ♥
sometimes, we are not even given the chance to enter into the 'non-elite' peoples' world. some close their doors the moment they hear , "i'm from JC...". are we really that scary? i mean, we're human too. just because some top school students are haughty doesnt mean every top school student is like that.
the very existance of this problem makes me even more determined to live out the school motto. Live with passion, lead with compassion. ♥ 6 words. but they describe it all. what a truly educated person should do. i'm also reminded of one of my favourite Wang Lee Hom songs, 改变自己。 the chorus goes like that:

okay i havent really completed this post. mum was rushing me just now haha. the good thing is, there are many people whom i know who are 'elites' now, but were 'non-elites' before. and i really thank God for them, cos they are the ones who can give us the clear view of everything. in fact, i was having this very conversation with a university student who was from a neighbourhood secondary school. and hey, the fact that there are so many people of his kind really show that there SHOULD NOT be any gap at all! but 'should not' normally doesnt equate with 'are not'. what i'm trying to say is, nothing is impossible so dont condemn yourself just cos you're not in a top school yet. just keep trying. keep pressing on. keep the reasoned trust.(: ♥
and when you finally shine, you're going to shine brighter than others. really respect those who made it to university through poly! same goes to non-IP students who make it to Hwa Chong. they call themselves 'late-bloomers', but to me, they're definitely better than that. just cos you havent discovered your talent/ability doesnt mean it doesnt exist right from the start.(: ♥

actually, life is greater than anyone can think. and it's not all about studies. (yes it's coming from a JC student. please. not all JC students are mugging freaks.-.-) it's sad that education has actually formed divisions. whether is it between 'non-elites' and 'elites', or 'IP' and 'non-IP'. defeats the whole purpose of education actually. but! there is an increasing awareness of this problem, so hopefully it'll gradually fade away.(: ♥
and IT STARTS WITH PEOPLE TAKING INITIATIVE.(: ♥

in conclusion, like what Jermain said, we should view our high IQ as a bonus, and we should use it for the right purposes. to understand people better, to develop better EQ. in fact, IQ and EQ should co-exist. both can be nurtured, in my opinion.(: and as more and more people are nurtured to have both, there is definitely hope for the gap to be increasingly narrow.(: ♥
bless people with what we're blessed with!(: whether is it EQ or IQ. teach, but at the same time, be teachable.(: and i'm sure many true friendships will be forged in the process.(: ♥

today's cell group meeting was really really great!(: ♥
first meeting in 5 weeks! and we combined with Jermain's cell group this time! :D ♥
quite happy that we get to merge (hope it becomes permanent! :D), cos i think they co-lead very well!(: ♥

really agree that Singaporeans lead fast-paced lives. the moment we wake up, we're racing with time. so much so that we often neglect our relationships with people around us. my greatest learning point of the day:

SLOW DOWN YOUR PACE, SO THAT YOU CAN BE QUICK TO LISTEN.(: ♥♥

we can really learn alot from our surroundings if we would just bother to notice them more often. how a hawker center worker can be so patient with his customers, how some bus passengers are just so ready to give up their seats to the elderly/pregnant ladies, how a parent can be so loving towards his/her child...etc. these are common scenarios in life that we'd miss out if we dont purposefully notice them. that's why i enjoy bus/train-rides alone sometimes. so that i can take the time to really look around and witness all these small details. of course we may also witness negative things, but who says we cant learn from them too? =P ♥

anyway, had fun learning some keyboard tips for background music from Jermain! sounds super nice with his main guitar music! :D ♥

finally finished EOM!(: ♥
havent had time to blog about chalet ever since i came back...shall blog about it now!(: ♥

attendance was 17/22! not bad! :D ♥
(Debbie, Meiling, Yi Jiao, Sylvie, Tian Ci, Yi Zhang, Kaleb, Guo Yuan, Galen, David, Zong Xian, Hua Peng, Xiao Heng, Gretal, Pamela, Mengke and Eunice!) :D ♥
first activity was pool! the girls took like half an hour to finish one pathetic game HAHA but nevertheless it was fun! Debbie was my pool partner! AND WE WON! :D ♥
switched partners after that. Me and Hua Peng against Sylvie and Tian Ci! lost, but it was a tough fight, we got owned at the beginning, but after that we fought back! :D ♥
lost by one ball i think. not bad lah, considering Tian Ci's a pro! :D ♥
supposed to bowl after that, but we did not due to the long waiting list...so we went to rent our bikes and had dinner at the foodcourt! yay shared ice kachang again! i didnt blow cold ice this time...hehehe.=P ♥
slacked in the room while waiting for the rain to stop...played cards, guitar and song (KU and Daughtry! :D ♥), camwhored, and many many other stuff!(: ♥
now for the main part. i was very very very very reluctant to rent a bike at first. but i did in the end. and i'm glad i did.(: ♥
Hua Peng, Debbie, Zong Xian, Xiao Heng and i went to the park while the others cycled out of pasir ris/ went for a movie. attempted to learn cycling from them. the instructions given sounded just too familiar. exactly what i had received half a year ago while practicing at some void deck for 6 hours straight. really brought back memories.(: ♥
got quite frustrated with myself, cos i knew exactly what i had to do (since half a year ago. -.-), the mistakes that i made, but i somehow kept repeating them over and over again. the more patience they showed, the more guilty i felt. didnt even care about the rain anymore. i just kept trying, and trying, and trying. had 3 seemingly successful attempts. but they lasted less than 10 seconds. yes, i did improve, but...still quite disappointed with myself.
despite that fact, i still enjoyed myself that night. really appreciate what y'all have done for me, all the encouragement, tolerance and smiles...you guys are really awesome friends to have.(: ♥

went to mac after that! strawberry sundae! :D :D made me super high hahaha! must be its high sugar content! sweet thing!(: ♥
then, we went back to the chalet, showered, and i had mahjong and chinese chess tutorial! xD
brain was fried halfway during CC tutorial though, and i was at a very good sleeping position...so...zzzzzzzz...xD xD

that pretty much covered most of the chalet gathering!(: ♥

Debbie and Eening left after that, so the five of us went to watch transformers!(: ♥
one of the very few action films that i found nice! :D cool effects and music! and there were parts that were actually quite amusing! xD xD
had subway for dinner with Hua Peng and Zong Xian after that! :D :D ♥
Hua Peng has a scarily huge appetite man! :O :O how can anyone finish a foot long sandwich in a single meal on his own... o.O
