-bend your knees. (lower CG = more stable!)
-dont turn your wrist while releasing the ball!
-keep practising one-step!
-dont drop the ball. give the ball direction!
-stand further away from the foul-line while practising one-step! (slide more!)

've been getting advice regarding my studies...would like to thank Ms Chen and Ms Fok for all their advice and encouragement.(: ♥
they've really helped me in sorting out my thoughts and clearing my doubts. after listening to Ms Fok, H3 subjects and scholarships...may not be what i truly want after all.
shall just concentrate on whatever subjects i have now, and do well in them.(: ♥

last friday, Jermain was strumming random guitar chords and improvising. and he actually played the exact chords of KU's Once In a Lifetime without even knowing!

anyway, went out with Pamela, Gretal and Geraldine after FOS on tuesday! :D ♥
though the next day was the WR deadline, i didnt regret going out with them at all! really had alot of fun.(: ♥
watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs at J8! it was quite a meaningful show, surprisingly. how Flint's 'stupid inventions' all turned out to be useful in preventing the biggest disaster that was about to happen. :D ♥

yesterday's training was the happiest training i've had in this entire semester.(: ♥
things are finally getting better. just kept practicing one-step. and now, both gripping and leg problems are solved!(: ♥
would like to thank coach Aloysius and my teammates once again, for the endless encouragements and all the hi-fives every time i did a good shot.(: ♥
glad our team has become more united too! cant wait for our team outing! :D ♥

hello! shall blog about sabbaticals! :D ♥

as most of you should have known by now, i opted for Cue Sports at first, but Ms Chua put me in Vocal Singing Workshop by mistake, and she forgot to change. and i didnt know till the day before so it was too late to tell her to change by then. so yeah i just went for Vocal Singing Workshop in the end. AND I WAS ABSOLUTELY GLAD I DID! it was really a blessing in disguise! :D :D ♥ ♥

first day! :D ♥
Celine (our instructor), wanted to test out our singing voices. so yeah we all had to sing individually in front of her and the rest of the class. i chose 彩虹!(: Jay Chou rocks hehe.=P ♥
next, we got splited into groups cos we had to do a group presentation the next day. my group's name is Different, by the way!(: cos yeah other groups were named after various math topics like Integration and Vectors and S&S...but our group didnt want to be named Differentiation, so we just called ourselves Different. :D ♥
group members: Ying Hui, Eunice, Waiyee, Chinkiat, Theodore and Song Yu!(: ♥

after lunch, Celine taught us many basic singing skills. really learnt alot! different vocal registers, rhythm, using diaphragm to project my voice(i've always wanted to learn but didnt have a chance till that day!) breathing, facial expressions, stage presentation, dynamics etc. :D ♥

then, we had another round of individual presentation. chose 说好的幸福呢 this time. wrong song choice...sort of screwed up my breathing timing and all...ended up using alot of falsettos (假音) unnecessarily cos of lack of breath.-.- but oh well it was a learning experience.(: ♥


second day! :D ♥
learnt vocal stylistics! :D and we were supposed to work in groups to present 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', applying what we've learnt about vocal stylistics to it. ours turned out quite well in my opinion! :D ♥

Waiyee, Ying Hui and Song Yu sang the main melody, i sang the back vocals, Theodore did the bass and beatboxing and Chinkian did Ad-lib!(: ♥
the other groups were quite interesting too! it was really fun to see the different ways each group presented the same song.(: ♥
we also did another group song of our own choice. our group did I'm Yours by Jason Mraz!(: ♥

after that was preparation for our final individual song. this time there was a professional judge to watch us and give us comments! and her name happened to be Eunice too.=X
had a hard time choosing a song this time...my first time singing in front of a judge! haha. chose 给我一首歌的时间 by Jay Chou in the end. and i just kept replaying the song over and over again the day before! i think my brother was sort of disturbed by my loud singing cos he was mugging for his chemistry paper hehe.=P ♥(sorry Jon! =X)
when my name was called, i just went up and gave it my best shot. and yeah i was quite satisfied with my attempt this time.=P at least i didnt go out of tune.=P ♥

-nice tone (:
-too muffled, must open up mouth more.
-dont cover the mike with your hands while singing
-it'd be better if you choose a female song next time.

some may be wondering why i actually took this sabbatical course so seriously. in fact, i was also surprised by myself! but yeah all the more i've been convinced that i really do love singing, and it was awesome to be part of a group of people who are also passionate about singing. i have to admit that there are many others out there whose singing voices are much better than me! :D ♥ enjoyed hearing them sing! :D. ♥
glad that i've made new friends through this workshop!(: caught up with quite a few friends during the sabbatical too! Glenn, Zheng Rui, Louisa, Kok Seng, Roy, Waiyee and Yinghui.(: ♥

it's been almost a year since my trip to Taiwan. really miss the friends i've made in Taiwan very badly.): and of course, all the places i've visited, 复旦高中， 台北第一女校， all the night markets, 台北美术馆，美术公园，小人国，and the Shang Ri La countryside place.(: ♥
i miss all those lessons in both schools, all the students were very friendly and enthusiastic! made me feel kind of guilty, cos when students from overseas come to visit Nanyang, we dont really have that kind of enthusiasm to get to know them.=X ♥
i love the culture there. it's just, different from Singapore. everyone has the genuine heart to make friends and care for each other. i might be generalizing, but that was what i really felt when i was attending lessons with the two classes.(: ♥
and not to forget all those pictures taken with Katherine, Zixin, Cheong Yinghui and Tiffany!(: ♥
going crazy in our hotel rooms, playing with fireworks, shopping, trying our luck to get those soft toy keychains from that machine, taking neoprints, attending lessons on how to write chinese compos, plucking fruits, t-shirt designing, gymming (HAHA!), making tang yuan, top-spinning, all those theme park rides, and sight-seeing, and of course, trying out all the local dishes!(: ♥
rahh. beautiful memories.(: ♥
really want to re-live them all over again.(: ♥

AND! i've been working on my guitar skills! :D ♥
gonna practice and practice and practice! though my fingers are hurting, but i like that kind of pain. haha. makes me feel accomplished. :D ♥
and i managed to figure out the plucking part for 彩虹 on my own within less than an hour! :D did that first thing in the morning! =P and i got so carried away i just sat on my bed and plucked for almost two hours straight haha! gonna search for the strumming chords and all. i want to learn many many many songs! :D Jay Chou, Keith Urban, Wang Lee Hom~ woohoo! :D :D ♥
feels great to pick up a new music instrument skill. got back my passion for music once again! not only listening, but playing and composing too.(: ♥

i really really really appreciate all their effort and patience in teaching me and guiding me through this hectic mugging period.(: ♥

yesterday and today, it suddenly dawned upon me the amount of hard work our teachers have been putting in to help us. i noticed all their tired and weary faces while i was in the consultation room. yet they still bothered to put up a smile as they cleared their students' doubts. this morning, i was having math consultation with Mrs Chua, and there were two other students consulting her at the same time. it was pretty amazing how she just kept moving and changing seats to attend to each and everyone of her students personally whenever we had questions. normally, students should be the ones going to their teacher. but today, the reverse happened. and i was really touched by that.(: ♥
